我總是說，如果有一天，我無法再達到身為蘋果執行長的責任以及期望時，
我一定會第一個讓你們知道。不幸的是，這一天終於來臨。
在此，我宣布辭去蘋果執行長的職位。如果董事會覺得我合適的話，
我很希望能繼續擔任董事長、董事以及一位蘋果員工。
我相信蘋果最光明、創新的日子正在前方，而我非常期待以新的角色，
為了其成功來繼續關注以及貢獻。
我在蘋果結交了許多一生最好的朋友，而這麼多年來能跟各位並肩工作，我感謝你們。

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when
I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO,
I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit,
as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that
we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it.
And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple,
and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
